Gifting your lady love with a gadget she just might like on Valentine’s Day is the latest trend because it involves men buying something they can actually understand. If you haven’t yet decided what to get the fair lady of your heart, check out the latest by Motorola.
The Motorola PEBL Rose Bloom has been launched just in time for V-Day. This pebble shaped metallic cell phone has a fully bloomed pink rose on the outer lid as its best selling feature. Other specifications of the phone include a touch-sensitive panel, 3.5mm headphone jack, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity and MP3 player. The phone would be available in Korea though a price hasn’t been revealed yet.
Motorola may be hoping that the recession wouldn’t affect their sales on V-Day but if they mean to sell an amazing amount they should probably head back to the drawing boards. A pink rose on a silver background doesn’t do much for the design, though it may appeal to the pink at heart.

If you thought the Windows interface for the visually impaired was a cruel joke, you are not the only one. Jonathan Lucas has designed the Siafu, which is an intuitive PC meant for those who are visually impaired. It can be laid like a flat tablet and is based on touch technology. The user can just touch it and interact with the machine. The computer’s surface comes with magneclay also known as the magnetized liquid.
The unique ability of Magneclay is that it can morph into any shape and can create a Braille surface which the visually impaired person can use to comprehend. It is not only the technology that is awesome but even the design it self is visually appealing. Though, when I say visually appealing, it is a cruel joke. However, that is not meant in a malicious way and the Siafu is a great computer.
It has 9 button Braille keyboard, a built-in microphone, voice recognition software, and a 2D-3D image converter. Looks like this is a great concept which may again not enter the market for reasons that baffle everyone who loves concepts and designs that never get manufactured.
